Can I trust the Bible?

Scripture is from God, So I can trust Him!

  1. The Bible is authoritative.
  2. The Bible is reliable.
  3. The Bible is sufficient.
  4. The Bible is true.

2 Timothy 3:10-4:4

The Bible is Inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16)

The Bible is INSPIRED by God.

Major premise: God is true (Romans 3:4).

Minor premise: God breathed out the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16).

Conclusion: Therefore, the Scriptures are true (John 17:17).

Issue #1: Circular Argument?

The Bible is inspired by GOD.

                1 Corinthians 2

The source for our faith is NOT THE BIBLE… its GOD!

                Faith Comes before Understanding

“To have a fruitful Christian life, we need an accurate Christian faith. To have an accurate Christian faith, we need a firm doctrinal foundation. To have a firm doctrinal foundation, we need a trustworthy source of truth. Enter God’s revelation: revelation of himself, from himself.” - Exploring Christian Theology, Volume I, p. 31

The Bible is Authoritative (2 Timothy 3:10-13)

                Team A: “Warped World View”
                Team B: “Biblical World View”

 Issue #2: Other Faiths?

The Bible is Reliable (2 Timothy 3:14-15)

                GOD – CHRIST – APOSTLES – APOSLTE’S SUCESSORS

Issue #3: Transmission Mistakes?

Issue #4: Added/Missing Verses?

Issue #5: Which Books?

The Bible is Sufficient (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 4:3)

The Bible is a book about How to get to Heaven… not how to get to hell!

Is the God’s word enough for you? (4:3)

Issue #6: Has any scripture been lost?

The Bible is True (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

“I believe in the inspiration of the Bible
“I believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible.”
“I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible.”
“I believe in the verbal, plenary, infallible inspiration of the Bible.”
“I believe in the verbal, plenary, infallible, inerrant inspiration of the Bible”
“I believe in the verbal, plenary, infallible, unlimited inerrancy and inspiration of the Bible.”

Issue #7: Contradictions?

Issue #8: The Bible and Science?

Issue #9: Fake News?

"Inerrancy means that when all the facts are known, the scriptures, in their original autographs, will be shown to be wholly true in everything they affirm." -Paul D. Feinberg

Can I trust the bible?

If you are not trusting the God’s words to us… then what are you trusting?

Scripture is from God, So I can trust Him!

  1. The Bible is authoritative.
  2. The Bible is reliable.
  3. The Bible is sufficient.
  4. The Bible is true.

‘‘One cannot in the face of the peculiar difficulties help saying, ‘Who is sufficient for these things?’ but with simple confidence and trust we may and do say, ‘Our sufficiency is of God.’ ’’ - Louisa M. R. Stead
